Formulated and prepared in France

The search for the perfect substrate is at the core of our philosophy. Over more than two years, we researched, tested, and refined multiple formulations to create substrates tailored to the specific needs of each plant. This in-depth work was carried out between Thailand and France, under real growing conditions, with extensive testing focused on drainage, aeration, water retention, and root health. The final formulation of our substrates is completed in France. All our substrates are then prepared and packaged in our greenhouse in the Paris region, under strict quality control, ensuring reliable, high-performance, and long-lasting growing media.

Description & Information

How our indoor plant substrate works

This substrate has been designed to meet the needs of most indoor plants, from the most common to the most demanding. Its formulation promotes an optimal balance between drainage, aeration, and water retention, allowing roots to develop in a healthy and stable environment.

Carefully selected components ensure proper air circulation around the roots while maintaining controlled moisture levels. This structure helps reduce the risk of excess water, root rot, and fungal diseases, while supporting active and long-lasting growth.

A substrate inspired by the natural habitat of indoor plants

Most indoor plants originate from tropical or subtropical environments, where soils are rich in organic matter, well-aerated, and consistently free-draining. This substrate is inspired by these natural conditions to recreate an environment close to their original habitat, while remaining perfectly suited for container growing.

Indoor plant care tips

Water moderately and allow the surface of the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. A simple finger test helps determine the moisture level. Most indoor plants prefer a slightly humid atmosphere and bright, indirect light.
Reasonable and regular fertilization, combined with a high-quality substrate, helps maintain balanced, resilient, and healthy plants.

How to use the indoor plant substrate

Using this substrate is simple and effective. Start by gently removing as much of the old substrate as possible from around the roots. To make removal easier, lightly squeeze the pot from the sides to release the plant. Then rinse the roots under lukewarm water to remove any remaining residue.
Take this opportunity to remove any damaged or dry leaves using clean scissors. Your plant is now ready to be repotted. Add a thin layer of substrate to the bottom of the pot, then place the plant in the center.
Gradually add substrate around the sides, ensuring that the base of the plant is just covered. Gently firm the substrate to stabilize the roots without excessive compaction. Water thoroughly after repotting to help the substrate settle and promote strong root establishment.

FAQ

Would the Indoor Plant substrate be suitable for my plant?

Most houseplants originate from tropical or subtropical environments, where the soils are rich in organic matter, well-aerated, and constantly draining. This substrate is inspired by these natural conditions to recreate an environment close to their original habitat, while remaining perfectly suited to pot cultivation.

When should I repot my plant?

  • Roots growing out of the bottom of the pot
  • A substrate that dries out very quickly between waterings
  • A plant that has become too heavy or unstable, and tends to tip over
  • Roots that push the plant upwards and out of the pot
  • Repotting is recommended every 1 to 2 years , depending on the plant's growth.

How long can the substrate be stored?

A sealed substrate , stored in its original bag, dry and away from light, can be kept for 12 to 18 months while preserving its physical and biological properties. Once opened , the substrate remains fully usable for 6 to 9 months , provided it is properly resealed and stored in a dry environment.

A used substrate (already potted and watered) remains effective for 9 to 18 months , depending on the plant, watering frequency, and growing conditions. Beyond this period, the structure and biological activity gradually decrease; it is then recommended to repot or renew the substrate every 1 to 2 years to maintain an optimal root environment. 🌿

How much indoor plant substrate do I need?

Use the jar volume calculator available on the product page to determine the quantity you need.

What should I do if my plant doesn't seem happier with its new substrate?

If your plant doesn't seem to be thriving in this substrate, please don't hesitate to contact us . We'll help you diagnose the situation (substrate, watering, light, environment) and find the best solution to ensure healthy and sustainable growth for your plant 🌿
