🌾 Blonde sphagnum peat moss
🌍 A natural origin in the heart of the peat bogs
Sphagnum peat moss is extracted from cold peat bogs in the Northern Hemisphere, mainly in Canada, Ireland and the Baltic countries.
It is produced from the slow decomposition of sphagnum, a natural moss, in an oxygen-poor environment.
Used for decades in horticulture, blond peat is recognized for its ability to retain water, while maintaining an acidic pH favorable to many tropical plants.
🔍 Description: Fine texture and strong absorption capacity
Blonde sphagnum peat moss is a light, fibrous material that ranges from light beige to golden in color.
It is soft to the touch, highly absorbent, and easily incorporated into substrate mixes.
It does not have a strong odor and can be used alone, or combined with other elements such as perlite, coconut fiber or bark.
Its water retention power is one of the highest among tropical substrate components.
✅ The benefits of blond sphagnum peat moss
-
💧 Excellent moisture retention : keeps the substrate moist longer without drowning the roots
-
🌡️ Naturally acidic pH : ideal for tropical plants that like acidic soils (anthuriums, alocasias, etc.)
-
🌱 Light and flexible structure : facilitates rooting and prevents compaction of the substrate
🌟 The basis of many successful blends
Using blond sphagnum peat moss provides your tropical plants with a stable, nutritious and reactive substrate.
It is perfect for cuttings, young plants or species sensitive to humidity.
Mixed correctly, it can really make a difference in the health of your roots.
